We’re Talking About Dual Projectors
At Trican Construction LTD, some of our best ideas don’t come from a boardroom. They come from standing inside a client’s newly finished golf sim shed and chatting about “what’s next.”
I was recently at a customer’s house, and we had a great conversation diving deep into dual-projector setups. If you’ve been following the simulator scene lately, you may have seen how some golfers are now projecting data directly onto the hitting turf.
It’s one of those things that looks impressive in a video. When you talk about the practical side of it, you realize just how much it actually changes the experience.
The “Aha!” Moment
With a second projector mounted to the ceiling and pointing straight down, that data- ball speed, launch angle, club path—is just there. Right at your feet. It allows you to review your swing without ever having to break your posture or lose your focus.
What We’re Looking Into
We talked about a few different ways to utilize that floor space effectively:
- The “Data Tile”: Keeping your key stats visible without cluttering the main course on the screen.
- Virtual Putting: Projecting a direct alignment line to the “hole” on the screen to help with setup.
- The “Cool Factor”: There is no denying that seeing a glowing logo or a virtual stance mat on the turf makes the entire bay feel like a professional-grade facility.
Innovation at Trican
Setting this up isn’t just about mounting a second projector. You have to consider the specific throw ratios so you don’t stand in your own shadow, and how to properly “crop” the software to fit the floor perfectly.
That conversation really got us thinking at Trican. We’re currently back at the shop looking into the best hardware and mounting solutions to make this a seamless part of our golf simulator shed builds. We want to ensure that when we integrate this tech, it’s clean, tucked away, and works the moment you flip the switch.
It’s an exciting time to be building these spaces. We’re learning right alongside our customers. We’re looking forward to seeing how we can integrate this technology into our upcoming projects.
